What sets Transmax apart from other developers of traffic management systems is the depth of experience and skill base within the organisation that has been developed over the past 30 years. To successfully develop ITS systems, a unique combination of traffic engineering, software development and communications expertise needs to come together under the direction and vision of an organisation that can turn innovative philosophies into reality.
John Lees - Managing Director

John has been involved in the development of Intelligent Transport Systems for more than 40 years. The early systems managed signalised intersections and these were followed in the 1980s by motorway management systems. In the 1990s STREAMS was developed. It is an integrated Intelligent Transport System that combines all road-based traffic management functions within one system. STREAMS manages streams of traffic and provides streams of traveller information.
Transmax was established from the systems development group within Queensland Main Roads in 2004. More customers now use STREAMS. It is deployed throughout Queensland and in Melbourne and Adelaide. The full range of ITS consulting services are now provided by the company to complement the software development activities. The company has grown from an initial staff of 20 to 90 today.
Philip Lloyd - Software Products Manager

Philip has 18 years of software engineering and management experience in the ITS industry, the majority of those working alongside John Lees and other senior staff at Transmax (or its predecessor within Queensland Main Roads). As Software Products Manager, Philip is responsible for coordinating elicitation and analysis of customers' business and software requirements, and then ensuring developed software meets those requirements through structured product integration and system testing. The ongoing evolution of STREAMS and other Transmax software innovations are forged into cohesive and reliable products through a managed, mature but flexible software development lifecycle.
