A number of organisations have suggested that Australia needs a standard way of achieving interoperability between Intelligent Transport Systems. In response to this Transmax has proposed an Australian ITS Interoperability Architecture based on XML and Web Services. It is an implementation level approach that, if adopted by a few organisations, could produce quick results.
